GUB students are invited to apply to participate in ASCEND℠. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Omicron Omega Chapter) signature youth enrichment program, is designed to motivate, engage and assist high school students in reaching their maximum potential. ASCEND℠ focuses on Achievement, Self-Awareness, Communication, Engagement, Networking and Developmental Skills. Students in the ASCEND℠ Program have an opportunity to receive academic enrichment and life skills training to support their journey to college or vocational employment through monthly mentoring sessions. Also, GUB students are supported through the AKA One Million Backpacks℠ initiative and receive backpacks and related school supplies.
